Description
Commissioned by Jonathan Castillo, this sonata is inspired by the poetry of Robert Pinsky. The movements are taken from text within Pinsky’s beautiful and complex poem: 1. Yearning Out of Zero; 2. – A Soothing Veil of Distraction; . – What is Imagination? This work stylistically resembles the harmonic voice of composers such as Ned Rorem and Samuel Barber. With an accompaniment of 2 violins, viola, cello and bass, this lush work exhibits the beauty and depth of the bassoon.
